Body Ecology Diet (B.E.D) is a foundational system of health and healing designed to address yeast, bacteria, viral, and parasitic overgrowth in the body. The purpose is to boost immunity by alkalizing blood and restoring the inner ecosystem to support the body to be a self-healing organism.

The goal of B.E.D. is not to eradicate yeast, bacteria, viruses, or parasites. That would be unreasonable, impossible, and less than ideal. Instead, the focus is on restoring the body’s strength so that all parts come together to work in interconnected harmony; a true symphony.

Since 2003, this way of eating has been used experimentally in the autism community. Anecdotal reports show the first group of autistic children trying this diet showed rapid and remarkable improvement. Most chronic diseases, including autism, are a cascade of events that often start with a fungal infection in the gut and then the pathogenic organisms escape the intestines to invade the rest of the body. The result can be essentially an infected gut, and in the case of autism, an infected brain.

Body Ecology Diet can benefit:

  • Babies with colic, diaper rash, or cradle cap.
  • Kids with autism, allergies, ADHD, or asthma.
  • Teenagers with acne, anxiety, or anorexia.
  • Women with reproductive, menstrual, or hormonal issues.
  • Men with weight gain, erectile dysfunction, or jock itch.

…. as well as people of all ages who struggle with:

  • Inflammation
  • Cancer
  • Crohn’s disease
  • Epstein Barr Syndrome
  • Food Cravings
  • Muscle/Joint Pain
  • Yeast Overgrowth (i.e., Candida, oral thrush, athlete’s foot)
  • Chronic Fatigue
  • Poor Memory, Focus Issues, Brain Fog
  • Headaches, Migraines
  • Bacterial Overgrowth (i.e., GBS+, SIBO)
  • Digestive Issues (i.e., bloating, constipation, food sensitivities)
  • Skin Rashes
  • Ulcerative colitis
  • Viral Overgrowth (i.e., sinusitis, hepatitis, gastroenteritis)

Quiz to see if yeast overgrowth is an issue for you.

A wounded gut is less able to perform its primary role as first line of defense for the immune system which can lead to secondary illnesses. A wounded gut is unable to contain incompletely digested nutrients inside the digestive tract walls where food particles “should” stay and often leads to allergic reactions. A wounded gut is unable to fully absorb nutrients to nourish the body (the host) which can lead to nutritional deficiencies, weak inner organs, and biochemical dysregulation.

The first step to restore your “inner body ecology” and reverse yeast, viral, or bacteria overgrowth is to starve out the pathogens (called “die-off”) that may be living in excess (out of balance) in your body (the host). This is done by not eating the foods that feed them in the first place and allow them to grow/populate such as sugar, yeast, and gluten to name a few.

The goal is to make your inner ecosystem/gut an unsuitable environment for them in which to live so they naturally die. This is accomplished in various ways by following the clearly laid-out principles in Body Ecology Diet (B.E.D.) with nutrient-dense, probiotic-rich, properly combined food to alkalize blood, repair damaged intestinal lining, and colonize gut with friendly flora to correct body pH and assist with digestion/elimination.

The initial stage of B.E.D. is free of gluten, sugar, pasteurized dairy, and yeast for 3 months to give the body time to begin healing process. The ingredients and methods of preparation in this diet ensure food is easy-to-digest, nutrient-dense, and probiotic-rich.

In a few diligent weeks, most feel a significant shift in how they feel and see long standing health issues ease. B.E.D.’s core foundational principles are traditional ones that have been used for thousands of years; a way of eating that can be maintained, even passed down to your grandchildren.
