B.E.D. Recipe The Body Ecology Diet

Waffle Toppers on The Body Ecology Diet (B.E.D.)

It is easy to reach for a bottle of maple syrup to drizzle on waffles. But what if you are following The Body Ecology Diet (B.E.D.) to heal a yeast, parasitic, or viral overgrowth? A gut healing protocol that excludes sugar, including maple syrup. You may be pleasantly surprised that you can eat waffles on the diet…I am here to tell you, that you can!

Here is my recipe for buckwheat waffles (or pancakes) and below are fun ways to top them…

Instead of serving up your waffles with a side of bacon think about Donna Gates’ food combining principle to help your belly feel better and work better. My buckwheat waffles are made with grain and so they combine best with other starches (squash, millet), plant-based proteins (hemp seeds, almonds), fats (cultured butter, coconut oil), and any kind of vegetable.

We tend to add a dollop of unsalted cultured vegetables along with a drizzle of dressing to our breakfast plate. Who knew eating waffles could be so colorful and healing?!

Do you have a creative way of topping your waffles to share?

“I’m so thankful towards you every time I make your waffles! For all of your time and efforts in putting together this AMAZING-recipe-i-have-been-searching-for-for-years-waffles!! My family who has a strong opinion about waffles even loves them!!” ~ N.B. Chapel Hill, NC.
