These kisses are easy to make, gluten-dairy-refined sugar free, and a perfect bite sized treat for people on a sugar-free diet or those healing a yeast, bacteria, or viral infection/overgrowth with Body Ecology Diet (B.E.D.). When I was on stage 1 of B.E.D., I kept a stash of these (+ other sweet treats) in my freezer to nibble on for when I craved something sweet …. they are also great for the lunchbox.

The sweeteners in the recipe are lakanto and stevia; neither of which feed harmful yeast, bacteria, or viruses living in the body and both are sugar substitutes while healing a yeast, bacteria, viral related health issue (i.e., GBS+, Candida). Both are safe for diabetics because they do not influence blood sugar and insulin release.

Cinnamon Kisses (B.E.D. Friendly, Stage 1)

Makes: 15 perfect kisses ❤

Gluten, nut, and refined sugar free.

Ingredients

1/2 cup ghee*

1/2 cup coconut oil, extra virgin and raw

1 Tbs lakanto or xylitol (optional)

1/2 Tbs cinnamon

1/2-1 tsp stevia powder

Dash of vanilla extract (alcohol/sugar free)

Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Gently heat ghee and coconut oil over very low heat until melted.
  2. Combine oils and all other ingredients in food processor/blender.
  3. Blend until smooth.
  4. Allow mixture to sit a few minutes until thickens to a workable consistency (not too thick is best for smooth result).
  5. Pour into candy mold (i.e. Monamour heart silicone mold) or drop 2 tsp. on baking sheet lined with parchment paper to form “kiss”.
  6. Refrigerate 20 minutes or until they harden.
  7. Store in refrigerator.

Tips & Tricks

  • Mixture can be chilled in fridge and rolled by hand into balls for truffles (work fast or will melt in hands).
  • Sprinkle kisses with ground almonds, coconut, or cinnamon.
  • Sensitive to ghee? Use more coconut oil instead.
  • Perfect treat for anyone on B.E.D.

*Ghee is pure fat; made properly contains little to no milk protein or lactose. Generally tolerated by people with dairy issues. If ghee bothers you, then you can simply substitute with coconut oil.

I have used both and prefer the classic golden myself but essentially both have the same flavor. Some like the refined white because it looks more like table sugar and is smaller granules. I sometimes grind the golden granules into a fine powder for certain recipes.

Thank you! You can replace coconut oil with high-quality ghee or palm fruit oil if you tolerate it.

Tara, these kisses look super good! Wish I weren’t “allergic” to coconut oil. I bet they are awfully tasty. Excellent for Valentine’s Day when cut in these heart shapes. Good going! Shirley
