Parsley Power: Green Smoothie Recipe

Green Smoothie Recipe: Parsley Power

Tara Carpenter, NC.

Holistic nutritional for people of all ages using The Body Ecology Diet (B.E.D.) to heal yeast, bacterial, & viral infections.

Traditionally, parsley is used as a remedy for anemia, bad breath, menstrual pain, and more; enjoy all the benefits in one glass 🙂 I will go so far to say that within a week of drinking this green smoothie, you may be hooked! The blend works and tastes great. I was surprised myself.

You do not like them. So, you say.
Try them! Try them! And you may.
Try them and you may, I say. ~ Dr. Seuss

Parsley is an herb rich in A + K vitamins, folate, beta-carotene, calcium, iron, antioxidants, and essential oil. Some health benefits include cancer inhibitor, liver detoxifier, anti-inflammatory, immune booster, bone builder, and gallstone dissolver (contains oxalic acid/kidney cleanser).

Tips & Tricks to Make Traditional Milk Kefir

Tips & Tricks for Traditional Milk Kefir

I have made kefir for years and learned a lot since I first started in 2011!! Here are my tips and tricks to help you move through your own learning curve that much easier 🙂

See milk kefir recipe here.

#1) I recommend making kefir with Body Ecology starter packets as they contain potent strains of lactobacillus bacteria and beneficial yeast that are hardy and easily travel into your intestines to work their probiotic magic ✨ These probiotics rid of any pathogenic overgrowth in the gut and strengthen digestion. Unlike most probiotics, the ones in this starter aren’t easily destroyed by antibiotics, fluoride, stomach acid, or chlorine. Worth every cent! And much cheaper than any probiotic supplement in the store and more effective on a holistic level. read more

Dandy The Lion: A Vegetable Green Smoothie ?

My husband nicknamed this one and I think it is appropriate given that the French origin of the word dandelion – dent-de-lioun – means “tooth of the lion” due to the plant’s sharply indented leaves. This fierce little smoothie contains a handful of dandelion greens, if you want more of a kick, add more leaves.

Our home resides in a community with an Earthship greenhouse and while up there yesterday, I spotted a patch of dandelion greens and thought to myself “why not?”. I love adding greens to my morning smoothies … watercress, parsley, cilantro … and given that we are in the month of April, I figure this is as good a time as any to create a delicious spring beverage for us all to enjoy.

Raw Chocolate Recipe

Raw Chocolate Recipe for The Body Ecology Diet

Tara Carpenter, NC.

I love chocolate that is sugar-free, raw, and preferably in shape of piggies! All of which is hard to find at a cost I am willing to pay and so instead, I got in my kitchen to create a recipe with the benefits of raw cocoa without a sweetener that impacts our blood sugar; important for those healing a yeast, bacterial, or viral infection on The Body Ecology Diet (B.E.D.).

Thanksgiving Gravy: B.E.D. Friendly Recipe

Thanksgiving Gravy: B.E.D. Friendly Recipe

Serving customized cooking, consulting, and meal plans.

Slather this savory, starch-free gravy over meat, mashed red potatoes, or starch-free stuffing for a traditional comfort food and happy belly. Unlike most gravy, this one contains no thickening starch like cornstarch or flour and so combines well with animal protein.

When I say ‘combines well’ I am referring to food combining; a secret for improving digestive issues. I learned about this when on The Body Ecology Diet (B.E.D.) and glad I did! I no longer feel stuffed to the seams after I feast, or hardly ever for that matter. Moved on to stage 2? Check out this delicious onion gravy

Basic White Frosting (gluten, dairy, refined sugar free)

Basic White Frosting (dairy/sugar/gluten free)

Tara Carpenter, NC.

Nutritional support for yeast, bacterial, and viral overgrowth-related health conditions with The Body Ecology Diet (B.E.D.).

This basic white frosting is easy to make and goes on smooth to top any cake or cookie. I have made this recipe many times for my boys’ birthday gatherings and is a good enough dairy, sugar, and gluten free topping.

We are all different in how we step into and ride a particular dietary practice, like B.E.D. and that said, if you are taking stage 1 seriously and focusing in on that bullseye of a target the deeper in you go, then I would hold off on this recipe unless you culture the coconut milk and flour. See more at the very bottom of this post.
